Bonfire Night

Yesterday afternoon we decided to light up a big pile of wood and branches. It had been a hot, still day, so having a bonfire was fairly safe. The afternoon was also beginning to turn cold and moisture was starting to settle on the ground, so any flying embers wouldn’t have much of a chance.

Below are some photos of the fire in various stages. Some of the photos look as if they were taken at night when they were actually taken late afternoon. This is a result of the cameras exposure settings. My favourite photo is either the last one which has the moon in it or the one where the fire looks like it has suddenly flashed down from the sky.
