I have been up to 5rocks since i was a little child, and i think that the best part is the bowl, i personally think that it shouldn't get shut down, once that place gets shut down, there will be know where else to go, except people running a muck in town, or places police don't want them to go, 5 rocks is a great place for camping, and having a great time :)

I walked the trail Sunday, 07/02/10
It is yeppoons best kept secret, it has no protection and will be gone one day...
my young adult children and their mates have been appreciating it for years as a secret spot...
were the Kanakas abducted from the islands and brought here as slaves for the sugar mill @ Farnborough? and associated industry / handcutting cutting cane? What has the trail used for sincethis time? Did bullocks drays or slaves on foot haul the cane to the railyard? Where did the slaves live? along the trail? Where did the sugar Barons live? these were some of the questions I asked myself as I marvelled at the incredible remnants of a bygone era in our local / Australian / Queensland history.

Hi Robin,

Glad you liked the photos!

You picked a good weekend to go up there - we went up on Saturday (two days ago) and Stony Creek is flowing strongly after all the rain. Ignore any “road closed” signs on the way there, the only damaged section is over the actual causeway bridge which has had a section of concrete ripped up. It's fine in a 4WD however.
